Procydin, primarily composed of Procyclidine, is a medication used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and drug-induced abnormal movements. It belongs to the class of anticholinergic agents, which help manage symptoms such as muscle stiffness, tremors, and poor muscle control associated with Parkinson’s disease[1][2][4]. Procydin tablets are available in different strengths, like 2.5 mg and 5 mg, and are prescribed to improve muscle control and reduce stiffness, thereby enhancing the patient’s ability to perform daily activities more effectively[6][8].

Additionally, Procydin is effective in managing extrapyramidal symptoms induced by antipsychotic medications. These symptoms may include restlessness, involuntary movements, and muscle spasms[4][7].

However, it’s worth noting that the term “Procydin” is sometimes used in the context of nutritional supplements, which contain grape seed extract and are marketed for their antioxidant properties, unrelated to the medicinal uses of Procyclidine[3].

The side effects of Procydin tablets include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, lightheadedness, dilatation of pupils, and urinary retention[2][7].
