Lomanor Uses

Lomanor (containing amlodipine) is primarily used for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina pectoris (chest pain)[1].

It is also indicated for patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), both to treat stable angina and to reduce the risk of coronary revascularisation, hospitalisation due to angina, fatal and non-fatal heart attacks, and stroke[1].

Lomanor can be used as monotherapy (alone) or in combination with other antihypertensive and antianginal medications[1][2][4].

  • Hypertension: Lowers blood pressure and reduces cardiovascular risk.
  • Angina pectoris: Relieves chest pain by relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow to the heart.
  • Coronary artery disease: Reduces risk of coronary events, such as heart attack and stroke.
  • Chronic stable angina and variant (Prinzmetal’s) angina: Used as first-line therapy, especially where myocardial ischemia is due to vasospasm or vessel obstruction[1][2].

The usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily, which may be increased to 10 mg daily depending on patient response[1].

Lomanor is a calcium channel blocker, helping blood vessels relax while reducing the heart’s workload[3][7][8].
