Medaspor Topical Cream Uses

Medaspor topical cream is primarily used for the treatment of various fungal infections of the skin and mucous membranes. Its active ingredient is clotrimazole, which is an antifungal agent effective against a wide range of fungal organisms[1].

Common uses include:

  • Fungal lesions of the skin and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes, molds, and yeast-like fungi
  • Treatment of ringworm (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and jock itch (tinea cruris)
  • Other fungal infections such as candidiasis (including diaper rash infected by Candida albicans), multicolored lichen (tinea versicolor), erythrasma, candidosic vulvovaginitis, and trichomoniasis
  • Mycoses complicated by secondary bacterial infection (pyodermia)
  • Pre-birth canal disinfection (reorganization of birth routes before childbirth)

The cream is typically applied outwardly to the affected area 2-3 times daily with a thin layer, gently rubbing it in. A small amount (about a 0.5 cm column for a lesion the size of a palm) is usually sufficient. The duration of therapy depends on the severity and location of the infection but is generally around four weeks. It is important not to stop use immediately after symptoms disappear; continue treatment as recommended to ensure complete recovery[7].
