Ran-Lansoprazole 30 Uses

Ran-Lansoprazole 30 mg is a proton pump inhibitor used primarily to reduce stomach acid and is indicated for several gastrointestinal conditions.

  • Short-term treatment of gastric (stomach) ulcers[1][5][6][7]
  • Short-term treatment of duodenal (intestinal) ulcers[1][5][6][7]
  • Treatment and prevention of reflux esophagitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) (including damage to and healing of the esophagus)[1][2][3][5][7]
  • Treatment and prevention of ulcers caused by NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)[2][5][6][7]
  • Combination therapy with appropriate antibiotics to eradicate Helicobacter pylori, which helps cure and prevent recurrence of duodenal ulcers[1][2][3][5][6][7]
  • Treatment of hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (excessive stomach acid production)[2][5][6][7]
  • Short-term relief of heartburn and hyperacidity (over-the-counter)[2][4]

Ran-Lansoprazole works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining, thereby significantly reducing the amount of acid produced. Doses of 30 mg are often specifically used for the treatment of duodenal ulcers (especially in H. pylori–positive patients as part of combination antibiotic therapy), erosive esophagitis, and GERD where symptom control requires higher acid suppression[1][5].

Other clinical uses can include maintenance therapy to prevent ulcer relapse or to continue healing erosive esophagitis[5][6], treatment of ulcers linked to chronic NSAID use[5][6][7], and as part of regimens for diagnosed H. pylori infection.
