Rehidrat Uses

Rehidrat is an oral electrolyte mixture used primarily to prevent and treat dehydration and electrolyte depletion. It is commonly recommended for situations where the body has lost fluids due to diarrhea, vomiting, or gastroenteritis. Each sachet contains a specific balance of sugars, salts, and minerals, such as sodium, potassium, and glucose, which help replenish lost fluids and restore electrolyte balance[2][6][7].

Key uses and benefits of Rehidrat include:

  • Treatment of dehydration in children and adults, especially after episodes of diarrhea or vomiting[2][3][4][7].
  • Replenishing electrolytes and fluids lost due to illness or physical activity, helping maintain essential body functions[2][6][7].
  • Prevention of dehydration during conditions like stomach flu, excessive exercise, or hot weather[2].
  • Supporting recovery after dehydration, which can present with symptoms such as headache, dry mouth, energy loss, muscle weakness, fatigue, and lack of concentration[2].

Administration:

  • Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 250 ml of freshly boiled and cooled water.
  • For mild dehydration: 50 mL/kg body mass over the first 6 hours, followed by maintenance doses.
  • For moderate to severe dehydration, oral rehydration may be supplemented or replaced with intravenous fluids as per medical guidance[6].
  • The solution should be freshly prepared daily; unused solution must be discarded after 24 hours[6].
  • Suitable for administration via bottle, cup, or spoon for infants, and in small, frequent amounts for all ages[6].

Rehidrat can also be used as part of supportive home remedies—for example, included in recovery tonics for new mothers or as hydration support for athletes after endurance activities[2].
