Triplixam 10 Mg/2 5Mg/10Mg Uses

Triplixam 10 mg/2.5 mg/10 mg is a fixed-dose combination medication containing perindopril (an ACE inhibitor), indapamide (a thiazide-like diuretic), and amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker). It is primarily used as substitution therapy for the treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients who are already controlled with perindopril/indapamide fixed dose combination and amlodipine, taken at the same dose levels[1][3][4].

This medicine is not suitable for initial therapy. If a dose change is required, titration with individual components is recommended[1][4].

Key uses include:

  • To manage and control blood pressure in patients diagnosed with essential hypertension who are stable on the individual medications[3][4][5].
  • Reducing the risk of future heart attack and stroke associated with high blood pressure[2].
  • Improving medication compliance by combining three antihypertensive agents into a single once-daily tablet[6].

Special considerations:

  • Triplixam 10 mg/2.5 mg/10 mg is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min) and also in patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30–60 mL/min) for this dosage[1][3][4].
  • It is contraindicated in severe hepatic impairment. Caution is advised for those with mild to moderate hepatic impairment[3][4].
  • Triplixam is taken once daily, preferably in the morning before a meal[1][4].
